The Spitfire No. 51 centrepin reel

This reel is a tribute to the classic 1939 aerial match and is a limited edition closed at 100 reels. This reel is number 51 from the last of the limited edition run of Spitfire reels. The first 50 reels were made 9/16″ wide and the last 50 at 3/4″ wide.

The reel has a 6 spoke construction with a solid back plate. The spool is in bright polished finish and has black tapered handles. The backing bowl is made from a solid block of aluminum with the foot bracket and line guard lugs machined into it. The backing bowl and 1/4 line guard are finished in black anodize. The reel is fitted with a button ‘V’ check mechanism.

Identical spare spool

This reel comes with an identical spare spool with matching embroidered cloth bags. The reel and the main spool are stamped No. 51 and the second spool is stamped No. 0 to tell them apart.
